Tengiz Bolturuk is heading an economic delegation to Iran’s Hormozgan Province to explore ways of cooperation and Kyrgyz investment in Iran and expand economic ties between Tehran and Bishkek.
In a meeting with the Director-General of Ports and Maritime Administration of Hormozgan Province Alireza Mohammadi, Bolturuk said that Kyrgyzstan was completely determined to invest in Iran’s southern Shahid Rajaei Port, as the Kyrgyz president has directed the delegation to operationalize cooperation agreements with Iran as soon as possible.
He said that working with Shahid Rajaei Port is a serious plan from among the 32 investment projects Kyrgyzstan’s president has agreed.
The Kyrgyz official said that he would visit the hinterlands of Shahid Rajaei Port and buy Iranian machinery for Kyrgyzstan mining industry.
Kyrgyzstan is negotiating with Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to provide a route for business transaction with Iran’s Bandar Abbas, Bolturuk added.
Mohammadi said that Shahid Rajaei Port has 60 kilometers of railway, capacity to load and offload over 140 million tones of goods on a yearly basis and over 50 container services sites.
He said that the port was ready for all types of cooperation and transportation investment with Iran’s neighboring countries, Kyrgyzstan in particular.
Bolturuk and the accompanying delegation also had meetings with other local officials in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, and paid visit to other business and industrial sites in the province.
